A woman in Hanover Township has been arrested after intentionally coughing on an entire section of food at a local grocer. Gerrity's supermarket was the target of what could be regarded as an act of domestic terrorism by a woman who is known to local authorities. Police said the unidentified woman was engaging in a "twisted prank" by coughing on produce, dairy, and meat items. It is currently unknown if the woman has been tested for the COVID-19 virus.
Management of the grocery chain threw out all the food from the affected areas. The grocery chain claims that the value of the food was $35,000 or more. The woman is being given a mental evaluation before authorities move forward with criminal charges.
